UNICEF's Global Mission

UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children's lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. The organization was established in 1946 to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries devastated by World War II.

Today, UNICEF is the world's largest provider of vaccines for developing countries and works to improve water and sanitation in communities, protect children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS, and provide education and other essential services.

Our Work & Impact

Fundraising Initiatives

Our annual charity gala, bake sales, and sponsored events have raised over $1,500 for UNICEF's global programs, directly supporting children in need.

Awareness Campaigns

Through social media campaigns, school assemblies, and informational posters, we've educated hundreds of students about children's rights and global challenges.

Community Engagement

We partner with local organizations to amplify our impact, organizing community service days and collaborative events that benefit children locally and globally.

Success Stories

Our "Water for Life" campaign funded clean water access for a school in East Africa, directly impacting over 200 children's health and education.

Impact Story

Featured Impact: Education for All

In 2022, our club raised funds to provide educational supplies to children affected by natural disasters. Working with UNICEF, we helped furnish a classroom with books, supplies, and learning materials for 50 students.

This initiative not only provided immediate educational support but also helped children regain a sense of normalcy and hope for the future.

Issues We Care About

Child Rights

Child Rights

Every child has the right to survival, development, protection, and participation. UNICEF works to ensure these rights are respected worldwide, regardless of race, religion, or nationality.

Our club advocates for the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history, which outlines the fundamental rights that children everywhere deserve.

  • Right to education and development
  • Protection from violence and exploitation
  • Access to healthcare and nutrition
  • Freedom of expression and participation
Education

Education for All

Education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for breaking cycles of poverty. Yet millions of children worldwide lack access to quality education due to poverty, discrimination, or conflict.

UNICEF works to ensure all children have access to inclusive, equitable education and learning opportunities throughout their lives.

  • Building and rehabilitating schools
  • Training teachers and providing learning materials
  • Supporting education in emergency situations
  • Promoting girls' education and gender equality
Water & Sanitation

Clean Water & Sanitation

Access to safe water and adequate sanitation is essential for child survival and development. Yet millions of children still lack these basic necessities, leading to preventable diseases and death.

UNICEF works to improve water supply and sanitation facilities in schools and communities, and promote safe hygiene practices.

  • Building water systems in communities and schools
  • Promoting handwashing and hygiene education
  • Responding to water needs during emergencies
  • Advocating for increased investment in water infrastructure
Healthcare

Healthcare & Nutrition

Good health and proper nutrition are fundamental to a child's development and future potential. UNICEF works to ensure children worldwide have access to essential healthcare services and proper nutrition.

From immunization campaigns to nutrition programs, UNICEF's health initiatives save millions of children's lives each year.

  • Providing vaccines and immunization support
  • Treating malnutrition and promoting healthy diets
  • Supporting maternal and newborn health
  • Preventing and treating childhood diseases
Emergency Relief

Emergency Relief

When disasters strike, children are among the most vulnerable. UNICEF responds rapidly to emergencies worldwide, providing life-saving assistance to children and families affected by conflicts, natural disasters, and health crises.

From the first hours of an emergency through long-term recovery, UNICEF works to protect children and restore their access to essential services.

  • Providing emergency supplies and safe water
  • Setting up temporary learning spaces
  • Offering psychosocial support to traumatized children
  • Reuniting separated families
